Ah, 'twas truly a lovely day at Audubon Park today.

For Becky, a live oak:

My cute co-worker Eric agreed to remove his shirt for Lisa (it was only in the 70's so everyone kept their shirts on, sorry Lisa!):

Here's the Evil Mark with his new program, Tobacco Free Living (as if!):

What I think of the Tobacco Free Living program:

Josh insisted I put up an adorable picture of him after the scary drag pic from last week:

For Gary, another shot of Jake:

2nd district congressional candidate Helena Moreno:

Hmmm, I wonder where the McCain Palin table is?

Patricia and Abe, the token straight employees of NO/AIDS:

My project co-worker, Tuh-tuh-tuh-TIA!!!

My other project co-worker, Diane, whom I adore:

Eric, just being cute:

The walk starts:

And they just keep coming:

It did my heart good to see so many, many people out there walking for NO/AIDS. It also did my heart good to see all the local volunteers...

And it was a simply beautiful day to be in Audubon Park. I also tried to take some artistic style photos, which I will post later.

Lots of adorable pictures! Thanks, Greg!
Also, thank your friend Eric for me for his sacrifice so I could have a shirtless picture. :) Looks like a fun group of people.

Aw, thanks for the live oak!

You know... I've been thinking a lot about the digs that were taken at Obama during the RNC for his work as a "community organizer." It was jarring, especially considering how Reagan made that concept such a part of what he thought Americans should do for one another and ourselves. In the early days of AIDS, that was all that COULD be done, because there was no assistance coming from the government. Funds continue to be hard to come by in the U.S. (and oh, the ways that truth gets hidden with misleading information from this administration), so the fight against HIV and AIDS still depends in large part on volunteers and donors, and even most people who take paying jobs aren't getting what their skills could bring in for-profit careers.

NO/AIDS is doing good work. Thank you.

Anyway, all that prompted me to do some Googling, and some people might find this article interesting:

Since he was on crutches, I didn't think it nice to ask him.
